Our story

Isabelle Baldwin began taking commissions in 2018, while completing her upholstery training, and formally established the brand in 2020. She had seen how daunting commissioning bespoke furniture could be — an industry of small workshops, word-of-mouth recommendations and opaque ‘POA’ pricing.

“What my clients often lacked was confidence, so I wanted to simplify the whole process.”

She grew up around the craft. Her mother spent a forty-year career making soft furnishings for some of the most distinguished interior designers in the UK, and Isabelle learned to recognise both a pleasing, graceful shape and the invisible details that separate properly made upholstery from the rest — proportions, perfectly matched patterns and careful construction a client may never notice, but which make a piece feel intangibly right.

The brand sits deliberately between off-the-shelf retail and high-end bespoke: a considered collection of designs you can make entirely your own, built on three things — beautiful design, excellent craftsmanship, and an ordering process that is genuinely easy.

Made in England

Every piece is made in England, combining modern upholstery techniques with traditional craftsmanship — the right fillings and precisely matched patterns — so it feels as good as it looks and is designed to last for decades. The same thinking runs through our bed bases, which are handmade in Britain with dovetail-jointed drawers rather than the screwed-together construction you find on the high street.

Our fabrics

We offer a curated collection of house fabrics from names including Colefax and Fowler, Sibyl Colefax, Jane Churchill, Christopher Farr Cloth, Romo, Linwood, Lewis & Wood, Ian Sanderson, Isabella Worsley, Blithfield, Vaughan and Susan Deliss — or you can supply your own. Samples are £1.50 each.
